Mutiny Newsletter — Winter 2025 Summary
Our Winter 2025 newsletter introduces Mutiny Version 8, one of the most significant updates to the platform in recent years. Mutiny V8 brings a refreshed user experience, clearer visual insights and a range of powerful new capabilities designed to streamline monitoring across your entire estate.
A key highlight of this release is the modernised interface and redesigned Node Icon Set, which now includes OS and Make glyphs for faster identification at a glance. Complementing this is the introduction of Topology Discovery within IPAM, providing automatic mapping of Layer 2 connections to show how devices are physically linked. This new visibility helps identify single points of failure and undocumented paths more quickly than ever before.
V8 also delivers specialist overview panels for environmental sensors, UPS units and networked printers. These dedicated panels surface the most important information up front—such as temperatures, voltages, runtime, toner levels and alarms—making day-to-day monitoring clearer and more intuitive.
Another major enhancement is the ability to customise the Node Status panel and Card view, allowing you to choose exactly which fields are displayed. Whether your focus is on OS versions, uptime, serial numbers or custom properties, V8 gives you the flexibility to tailor views to your operational needs.
Security monitoring receives a boost with the new Windows Security Basics Agent, offering quick visibility into account lockouts, firewall state, local admin membership and key recent security events. Alongside this, Mutiny V8 includes significant improvements to WinRM discovery and update handling, ensuring faster and more reliable polling across larger environments.
For organisations integrating Mutiny with wider workflows, V8 now supports OAuth2 authentication for API-based alerts, making connections to SaaS platforms, ITSM systems and chat tools both simpler and more secure.
As always, this release includes numerous behind-the-scenes refinements, stability improvements and bug fixes, all contributing to a smoother and more responsive experience.
V8 is available now. Appliances running CentOS will need to upgrade to AlmaLinux 8 to receive this and future releases, and Mutiny offers full support—from new AP4/AP5 hardware to SSD upgrade kits and migration assistance.
We’d like to thank all customers whose feedback directly shaped this release. We’re excited to share Mutiny V8 with you and look forward to bringing even more enhancements throughout 2026.
