Introducing Mutiny V8
As we close out the year, we’re excited to bring you one of our most significant releases in recent years: Mutiny Version 8.
V8 brings a refreshed look, clearer insights, and smarter discovery features designed to give you more visibility with fewer clicks.
Below is a summary of what’s new.
✨ Refreshed Interface & New Icon Set
V8 introduces a cleaner, modernised interface designed to surface key information more clearly.
A completely new Node Icon Set provides better at-a-glance identification, including OS and Make glyphs directly on each icon.
This small detail makes a huge difference when scanning larger maps and group views.
🗺️ Topology Discovery in IPAM and per view
A major step forward:
IPAM now includes integrated topology discovery, automatically mapping Layer 2 connections between devices where supported.
This gives you a quick, accurate view of how your estate is physically connected, helping you spot single points of failure and undocumented links instantly.
🖥️ Specialist Panels for Sensors, UPSs & Printers
We’ve added dedicated overview panels for:
• Environmental sensors
• UPS units
• Networked printers
Each panel is tailored to the device type, showing the most relevant details up front — temperatures, voltages, toner levels, runtime, alarms, and more.
These panels make day-to-day monitoring far more intuitive.
⚙️ Customisable Node Status & Card Views
A highly requested improvement:
You can now choose which fields appear in the Node Status panel and in the Card view.
This flexibility allows you to prioritise metrics that matter most to your organisation, whether that’s OS versions, uptime, serial numbers or custom properties.
🛡️ Windows Security Basics Agent
Our new Windows Security Basics Agent provides essential security telemetry, covering:
• Account lockouts
• Local admin membership
• Firewall state
• Key recent security events
It’s lightweight, targeted and designed to complement your existing Windows monitoring.
🔧 WinRM Discovery & Update Improvements
We’ve significantly enhanced the reliability and performance of WinRM-based discovery, improving:
• Detection accuracy
• Update cycles
• Handling of large node sets
V8 should deliver faster, smoother Windows polling across the board.
🔐 OAuth2 Support for API Alerts
API-based alerting now supports OAuth2 authentication, making it easier to integrate Mutiny securely with modern SaaS systems, ITSM tools and chat platforms.
This keeps your workflows secure and up to date with best practice.
🛠️ Plus: Behind-the-Scenes Enhancements
As with every major release, V8 includes dozens of refinements, stability updates and bug fixes across the platform — all aimed at providing a faster and more reliable experience.

Mutiny V8 is available now.
If your appliance is still running CentOS, you’ll need to upgrade to AlmaLinux 8 to receive V8 and future updates.
