Check that the SNMP community "public" has been added??

Postby leon.kocken@nl.tsysmsemea.com » Thu Jul 15, 2010 3:57 pm

I am new here, have no understanding of Mutiny...but try at least to deal with this issue. I get an red error with the following message. I have no idea how to check SNMP community "public" etc etc. I am sure this SNMP is installed and working but what next?

"The SNMP port is open but Mutiny cannot get any SNMP information.
This is probably beacuse the SNMP security settings on the node
are preventing access.

Check that the SNMP community "public" has been added as
"READ ONLY" and that the IP address of Mutiny has been added
to the list of hosts from which SNMP packets are accepted."

I have never configured or even added a node in Mutiny, so at least you know how much i know.
if any can help pls.

Please see the following guide to help you with your general questions about setting up SNMP
http://www.mutiny.com/SNMPsetup.php

There is also a test button in the node manager that will allow you to test snmp and this test will perform an port test should the snmp fail to allow you to see where the service is running but just not responding to the community string.
