Creating a Virtual MachinePrior to installing your VMware version of Mutiny, you will need to create a new new virtual machine. The following will help you with the settings require during the set-up wizard. Starting in the VM Infrastructure Client select your VM Host from the list available on the left and right click on the host to select "New Virtual Machine" and start the wizard. Select (Custom) then [Next] Give your Virtual Machine a friendly name like "Mutiny-solo" and press [Next] Select the resource you wish to use and press [Next] Select the storage pool from which you will later create a virtual disk. and press [Next] Selext (Linux) from the list and then select "other linux" from the pull-down list and press [Next] Leave the number of virtual processors at 1 and press [Next] Type in a memory value from your available memory and press [Next] We suggest an initial value of between 384mb and 1gb Select 2 nics and VM network for both, then press [Next] Change the storage adaptor type to Buslogic and press [Next] Press [Next] to create a new virtual disk Now type in a value for the size of the disk The appliance version of Mutiny uses an 80GB drive but the installation minimum is 20gb. Press [Next] to leave the advanced disk section as default Press [Finish] to complete the wizard setup. Now find your new Virtual Machine in the tree view on the left and right click to select "Edit Settings" Click on the Floppy disk from the list of resources and press [Remove] Click on the CDrom device and on the right hand properties page select (Host device) and tick the [Connect at startup] tick box Finally press [OK] to complete the setup. Installing MutinyNow you have created the virtual machine you need to install the Mutiny operating system. Insert the Mutiny Build CD into the VM Host server From the VM Infrastructure Client start your new virtual machine. Switch to the console view of this VM If the CDRom is found correctly and booted from, you will see a a screen asking you if you wish to build a Mutiny appliance. Once you see this screen, type the word "build" at the prompt and press [Return] to start the build process. At this point you will observe various processes including formatting or the virtual disk and installation of various packages. This is followed by what looks like random code scrolling up the screen, this a normal part of the installation process. at the end you may notice error messages refering to the removed floppy device, this is also normal. Once complete the virtual appliance will automatically restart and you will see the startup messages as the appliance starts. 
Once you see the Administration maintenance login screen above, you are ready to move to next stage of configuration. Follow the configuration steps on the page http://www.mutiny.com/democd.php Once you have browser access to your virtual appliance, upgrade it to the latest version before adding your network as the upgrade will require a factory reset.
